Sleep belongs in your nutrition plan

Sleep belongs in your nutrition plan

A randomized trial tested sleep extension in 80 adults with overweight who habitually slept less than 6.5 hours.

The intervention group increased sleep by about 1.2 hours and reduced energy intake by roughly 270 kcal/day relative to controls during the short intervention. This was a group result, not a guaranteed individual effect.

Practical suggestion: track sleep alongside meals for a few days, then review the pattern with your nutrition specialist.

How to interpret the result

A short intervention in a specific group; it does not establish long-term weight loss.
