Time-restricted eating: structure or extra benefit?

Time-restricted eating: structure or extra benefit?

A one-year trial in 139 adults with obesity compared calorie restriction alone with calorie restriction plus an 8 am–4 pm eating window.

Weight-loss differences between groups were not statistically significant. This does not mean timing is irrelevant for everyone, but it does not support a promise of greater loss from an eating window alone.

Practical suggestion: choose an eating schedule you can sustain while fitting appropriate meals, then review progress.

How to interpret the result

The study tested a particular window with calorie restriction, not every fasting approach.
